Way to go Ted. Your story brings up my curiousity over the past week, as this bill moved through the subcommittee. Where was the local organization? I saw no regional or national calls to contact members of the subcommittee - in particular, these "brown dog"/"oil patch" Democrats, like Mike Doyle, who were interested in weakening an already insufficient bill. I think that the priority of national organizations, especially the ones that have been pouring lobbying money into Congress, like the NRDC and the Climate Action Partnership, should rather be organizing local call-in days and door-to-door efforts in these oil patch districts. Until every representative realizes that their constituents actually care about climate change, they're unlikely to prioritize emissions caps/renewable plans.

This all goes to show that it's best not to anthropomorphize Members of Congress.
